Contingency Plan for AEC Tech 2020

Hey, hey!

We hope everyone is staying safe wherever you may be and doing your best to make the most out of this time at home. CORE studio is still busy with creating applications, tools, and starting to host free virtual events for the community.

We’re pushing ahead with our annual conference, AEC Tech 2020, this October 16-19. We are crossing our fingers and hoping that we can have this as an in-person event, however, we are closely monitoring the situation within the state, country, and our community. We want to remain flexible and prepared for any possible situation, so as we are planning AEC Tech 2020, we are also creating contingency plans in the case that we cannot meet in-person.

By October, if we cannot meet in-person, this is the current plan for how AEC Tech 2020 will happen!

  • Ticket prices will decrease significantly because our overhead expenses will be limited to labor.

  • We’ll go online! Our programming schedule will remain the same and instead, we will move to virtual platforms.

    • We will utilize our communal AEC Tech Slack group even further for masterclasses, hackathon, and symposium.

    • Additionally, we will use RingCentral as a platform for teaching, breaking into teams for the Hackathon, and sharing presentations.

  • Everything will be recorded. As usual, we will record our symposium presentations and share them on our YouTube channel. Masterclasses will be recorded and shared for the first time ever too.

  • The Hackathon will happen virtually! We will utilize RingCentral, breakout rooms, and our Slack channel to keep the Hackathon going!

  • You’ll still get a Hackathon prize! Don’t worry, if you’re really in it for the prizes, we have you covered and will send you over a prize.

Our main goal is to not cancel AEC Tech 2020 because we believe that it is crucial, especially now, to share what is happening within our communities and industry. No matter what, we hope to see you in some way come October!

Cheers,
CORE studio
