On June 24-25, LMN Architects hosted the second AECtech event in Seattle. This years event featured a series of light masterclasses and a full Hackathon at LMN’s incredible new Shop Space in downtown Seattle. This was the first AECtech Hackathon held in a common space in over 5 years which brought an incredible energy to the day.

On November 4-7 Thornton Tomasetti | CORE studio hosted the ninth annual AECtech Symposium and Hackathon. This event featured a diverse set of intensive Virtual Masterclasses followed by a hybrid Symposium which live-streamed an incredible array of presentations and round table discussions from the Center for Architecture. The event concluded with a hybrid 27-hour hackathon bringing 9 innovative projects to the world. Our sincere thanks to all who participated virtually and in person in AECtech’s first hybrid event. It was a wonderful moment to bring the community together once again.

On July 8-12 Thornton Tomasetti | CORE studio virtually hosted AECtech 2021 UK in collaboration with Simply Rhino, Grimshaw Architects, and KPF Architects which explored innovations coming out of the UK AEC space and their global collaborations. This virtual event was attended by an amazing group of teachers, presenters, and participants who spanned the globe and came together to learn new ways of working during 2 day of workshops, pioneer new technology during a 27-hour hackathon, and hear presentations from industry leaders about evolutions in technology and practice.

We’re pushing ahead with our annual conference, AEC Tech 2020, this October 16-19. We are crossing our fingers and hoping that we can have this as an in-person event, however, we are closely monitoring the situation within the state, country, and our community. We want to remain flexible and prepared for any possible situation, so as we are planning AEC Tech 2020, we are also creating contingency plans in the case that we cannot meet in-person.
